The National Association of REALTORS is the ultimate interpreter of the Code of Ethics. The Preface to the Twenty-Ninth Edition of Interpretations of the Code of Ethics states:
“Interpretations of the Code of Ethics has been developed by the Professional Standards Committee of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS to help REALTORS and REALTOR-ASSOCIATES understand the ethical obligations created by the Code of Ethics, and as a reference work for Grievance Committee, Ethics and Arbitration Hearing Panels, and Board of Directors.”
